Burkina Faso Radical Insurgency is an indie tactical shooter made by Indonesian developer Blackridge Entertainment. With realistic gameplay, pleasing visuals, and big potential in the tactical shooter market. Let’s check it out!
Strong Potential

This game made by Blackridge Entertainment has the potential to hype up the FPS community. Just imagine, the dev team is only five people! Yet they’ve managed to create a game that can compete with other big tactical shooters.
You’ll be placed in Burkina Faso, a country in West Africa, where your main mission as a CIA agent is to hunt down ISIS members. From the premise alone, the story already feels heavy and realistic.
The game offers an experience very similar to the currently popular Ready or Not. You can’t just shoot randomly, you need to plan your tactics before breaching each room. The tension is always there, either you shoot first, or you get shot by the enemy.
Tactical Gameplay

When it comes to the gameplay foundation, Burkina Faso Radical Insurgency is already fairly solid if I do say so. The gunplay feels really satisfying. With stance systems that let you switch between low ready and high ready, giving it a more realistic touch.
On top of that, you can also change firing modes, whether full auto or semi depending on the situation. Even small details like the leaning mechanic come in two versions, a slight lean and even slighter lean. Every feature lets you safely check every corner of a room.
There’s also a slow-walk feature that makes your footsteps harder for enemies to hear. It’s a small detail, but it adds to the immersion.
The game offers quite a big selection of weapons, although unfortunately unlicensed due to the indie team’s limited budget. Despite that, it already has the vibe of a high budget tactical shooter.
If the devs keep pushing out updates, there’s no doubt this could become a serious competitor in the tactical shooter market.

Classic Atmosphere

In terms of graphics, Burkina Faso Radical Insurgency doesn’t really chase the hyperrealistic standards of modern AAA shooters. Instead, its visuals feel simpler yet consistent.
The atmosphere is reminiscent of the PS3 era. Textures aren’t ultra-detailed, but they’re smooth enough and easy on the eyes. Lighting effects, shadowed interiors, and overall mood still manage to create an intense vibe even without hyperrealism.

The Burkina Faso setting itself is portrayed convincingly, from simple buildings and narrow corridors to open areas prone to firefights. While some level design still feels like early access, the game already gives off the impression of a serious military mission.

And since it’s still in early access, there’s plenty of room for visual upgrades in the future. If things already look this decent now, just imagine when the game is more polished. With smoother animations, particle effects, and more environmental variety get added.
Waiting for the Breakthrough
Burkina Faso Radical Insurgency is proof that an Indonesian made game can challenge a genre usually dominated by foreign studios. From gameplay to mechanics to visuals, everything feels crafted with clear intention.
It does feel a bit stiff or clunky because of its early access status. But that’s exactly why it’s worth following its progress. If you’re a fan of realistic tactical shooters full of tension, this game is definitely one you should try.
Just keep an eye on future updates. Because if the developers stay consistent, this game could easily become the underdog of the tactical shooter world.
