Have you ever felt the tension of playing games like I’m on Observation Duty or The Exit 8? The anomaly seeking genre has been on the rise lately because of its simple yet heart pounding mechanics. Well, good news for you local horror lovers, because developer Akhir Hayat Studio, led by Andy Lukito, has just released their latest game titled Project CCTV.
This game isn’t just about cheap jumpscares, you know. Released on Halloween last year, October 31 2025, Project CCTV offers the experience of being a security camera monitor whose fate and that of your team depend on your sharp eyes. Curious about how terrifying this game is? Let’s check out the review!
Join the Anti Ghost Special Forces
In this game, you don’t play as a regular security guard who just happens to be unlucky. The lore is pretty intense, dude! You play as the Captain of the C.C.T.V. (Critical Containment Threat Verification) division under the S.I.A. (Supernatural Investigation Agency).
When the regular police have given up on dealing with the strange phenomena in the city, that’s when you step in. Your main task is to monitor a series of surveillance cameras (CCTV) in real time. Not to catch thieves, but to ensure that the area is safe from supernatural disturbances. So, there is a moral burden here, if you let your guard down, your team will suffer the consequences!
Sharp Eyes or Life Lost

Project CCTV wraps a spot the difference concept in a thick horror atmosphere, you face several monitors displaying different rooms. Your task is simple, memorize the normal condition of the room, then report if there are any changes (anomalies).
However, don’t expect this to be easy. You have to survive for three nights in each location with increasing levels of difficulty. On the first night, it might just be a chair that’s moved or a painting that’s tilted. But by the second and third nights? Brace yourself for electronic interference, sudden bloodstains, and terrifying entities staring intently at your camera! This transition from calm to panic is what makes the gameplay feel so intense.

From Cinema to Haunted House

There is an interesting fact behind the development of this game. Did you know that this game was originally planned as a Cinema Simulator? Yep, you read that right.
The developer, Andy Lukito, initially intended to create a cinema management simulation game. However, halfway through, he felt that the concept was lacking and tended to be boring. So, if you feel that the lobby or theater settings in this game feel very detailed and realistic, it’s because these places were originally designed for business simulation, not for testing your courage!
Must Add to Wishlist!
Overall, Project CCTV is a sweet execution by Akhir Hayat Studio in venturing into the observation horror genre. Its realistic graphics thanks to the maximized use of Unreal Engine assets, spine chilling sound design, and very affordable price make this game very worth playing.
