Who misses being a virtual barista while listening to fantasy customers’ confessions accompanied by lo-fi music? Good news, friends! Our beloved Coffee Talk series is confirmed to return. But this time, we won’t be brewing coffee in rainy Seattle anymore. Get ready, because this franchise is opening a new branch in Japan with Coffee Talk Tokyo. This isn’t Episode 3, but a standalone entry that’s sure to warm our hearts once again.
New Location, New Story
As the title suggests, the biggest and most obvious change is the setting. We will leave the iconic cafe in Seattle and move to a quiet little coffee shop in a corner of metropolitan Tokyo.
Of course, moving locations means we will meet new customers. Coffee Talk Tokyo promises a host of new characters, complete with typical modern urban problems. As usual, they are a mix of humans and fantasy races (such as elves, orcs, etc.) who need a place to vent.
Who’s the Developer? Still Toge?

This is probably the first question that comes to mind for fans. The answer: Coffee Talk Tokyo was developed by Chorus Worldwide Games, a developer and publisher based in Japan.
Hold on, don’t be skeptical just yet! Toge Productions, as the creator and owner of the original IP, remains fully involved in this project. They will serve as supervisors to ensure that the spirit, warmth, and legacy built by the late Mohammad Fahmi remain intact in this new game.

Compelling Talking Simulator Gameplay

For veterans, the core gameplay in Coffee Talk Tokyo will feel very familiar. It remains a heart to heart talking simulator in a cozy visual novel format.
Your main task remains the same: be a good barista. Listen to their stories, find the right drink to warm the atmosphere (whether it’s coffee, tea, chocolate, or perhaps a new Japanese specialty recipe), and enjoy the soothing sounds of lo-fi chillhop music. Remember, the drinks you serve can open up new dialogues and influence the direction of their stories.
Prepare your Cup, Release 2025!
So, when can we start brewing? Hold on, guys. Coffee Talk Tokyo is scheduled for release in 2025. The exact date hasn’t been announced yet, but it’ll be worth the wait.
The game has been confirmed for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. For those of you who are already missing the warm pixel art style and relatable stories, this title is a must-have for your wishlist right now!
