Twilight Memoria Sun and Moon is an indie RPG by YSY Softworks. Filled with the warmth of childhood stories, friendship, and a village shrouded in mystery. This classic RPG comes with an ATB combat system and a unique alchemy mechanic. Let’s dive in!
Back to Childhood
Going back to childhood is a literal impossible dream. Most people probably miss the days when life was simple. When we didn’t worry about bills and everything was still full of curiosity.
That’s the exact vibe Twilight Memoria Sun & Moon tries to bring. This indie RPG has caught some attention for its heartfelt storytelling and nostalgic visuals.
You’ll follow the story of two kids, Rucifar Demien and Luna Silver. Their journey isn’t about slaying monsters or being heroes who save the world. Instead, it’s about friendship, growing up together, and even the spark of first love.

Both of them have big dreams for their future. But unfortunately, they also have to face the mysteries hidden within their seemingly peaceful village.
The village may look calm, but it holds many secrets. Each quest from the villagers slowly unravels new truths. If you enjoy RPGs with a slightly emotional narrative, this could be a hidden gem worth checking out.

Unique Combat and Alchemy

What sets Twilight Memoria Sun & Moon apart from other RPGs is its battle system. The game uses an Active Time Battle or the ATB mechanic. Each character and enemy has their own real-time action bar.
That means you’ve got to stay sharp, enemies won’t wait for your turn. They’ll attack whenever they want. It feels a bit like traditional RPGMaker turn-based combat, but without the turn-based element.
Rucifar, armed with a scythe, takes on the role of the frontline fighter, dealing direct damage. Meanwhile, Luna focuses more on support, using potions, bombs, or her healing skills.

On top of that, the game features a unique alchemy or potion crafting system that makes things more exciting and flexible. Recipes usually just say “requires liquid” or “requires leaves,” but you’re free to choose which liquid or leaves you use. Want to craft a potion with clean water? Or go wild and use monster blood? The results will vary widely.
The higher the elemental level of the items you collect, the stronger the outcome. So you’ll need to loot often, whether from the monsters or the environment. Trust me, if you don’t make use of alchemy, late-game battles will be tough.
Simply Perfect

Visually, for some, this game might not look all that flashy at first glance. Its art is simplistic, very much in line with classic RPGMaker aesthetics. But that’s exactly what the developers intended, they wanted to deliver a true old-school RPG experience.

The soundtrack also does a great job of building that nostalgic atmosphere, mixing curiosity with sentimentality. It’s no wonder many players say the game reminds them of the old RPGs they grew up with.
Plus, it’s super lightweight and runs easily on just about any PC, no matter the specs.
An Experience Full of Nostalgia
Twilight Memoria Sun & Moon isn’t a AAA RPG with vast open worlds or ultra-realistic graphics. But it’s precisely its simplicity that makes it so nostalgic.
It feels like going back to your childhood village, playing with childhood friends, while uncovering mysteries along the way. With its heartfelt story, challenging combat, and experiment-friendly crafting system, this game has its own unique identity.
If you’re looking for a classic indie RPG that’s comforting at heart, Sun & Moon is definitely worth it. It’s the kind of game you’ll want to cozy up with in your free time if you’re a true fan of old-school RPGs.
