The story of the Blind Man from the Ghost Cave (Si Buta dari Gua Hantu) is infamous folktale among Indonesian, especially on West Java. A warrior that lost his vision lurks from inside of mystical cave after trapped for a long time.
Inspired by this tale, a new Indonesian game developer, Rizero Studio, creates a new project of an upcoming game that will display this story into a game that we can explore. Rizero Studio released the first trailer of The Blind Warrior on July 15, 2025, as their first debut game.

Legendary Warrior Without Vision
As I said before, The Blind Warrior will focus on storytelling of Indonesian local legend. The tale of Si Buta dari Gua Hantu is an iconic local warrior story with deep potential for exploration. Not every Indonesians may know the original story of Si Buta dari Gua Hantu, but at least, the title itself is familiar among Indonesians.
With a bit fictional modification of the original story that does not mention its timeline, Rizero Studio decided the story will be around 19th century. The land was still under Dutch East Indies Colonialist on the regim of Culturstelsel (forced and unpaid cultivation). Indicating the plot and the actual antagonist might change to Dutch East Indies Colonialist’s henchmen.
Badra Mandrawata, the blind martial artist, as the main character with intriguing backstory. Badra lost his vision after losing battle with Silat mages. His father was killed during the action, but he survived and fled into a ghost cave. Brada honed his martial art there, adapting his loss of vision. He strengthens other senses in order to exchange the capability of seeing.
After years of training and enhanced abilities, Badra lurks out from the cave. He ventures to the land of West Java and defeats whoever stands on his way. With his strengthened skill, he begins the journey outside ghost cave and ready for revenge.

Thrilling Combat Experience and Adventure
The Blind Warrior is inspired by souls-like games such as Dark Souls Series, Black Myth: Wukong, Ghost of Tsushima, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Packaged as a third-person RPG adventure and playable in single-player mode with strong emphasis on storytelling. Player will be able to explore the terrain with semi-open world building while keep focusing on the main story. Walk through arranged path so the player will not get lost or confused while playing.
The Blind Warrior will provide enchanting visual and astonishing world building. It is not too different with other AAA games with its high quality of graphics. Also, every stage location has distinct layout. Starting from the scenery of woods along the path to sojourn villages with Indonesian traditional houses.

The Blind Warrior will provide thrilling adventure with various combat mechanics. Fight against enemies with unique techniques that will be available along the venture. Pick up various kind weapons relating traditional Silat martial art. Apparently, the game will feature melee combat weapons only, such as swords, blades, or staffs. These options are available to help players defeating enemies.
According to the trailer, the game will show gore animations explicitly. Blood will splash whenever you fight the enemies. Various kind of weapons will cause different impacts towards the enemy. For example, swords will slash the enemy’s body or perhaps it might cut of their limbs, and staffs will cause blunt damage and destroy their skulls.
